Update Data In a MySQL Table Using MySQL

The UPDATE statement is used to change information in records that are already in a table:

UPDATE name of table

SET column1=value, column2=value2,…
WHERE some_column=some_value

Notice that the UPDATE syntax has a WHERE clause: The WHERE clause tells the program which record or records to change. If you don’t include the WHERE clause, all of the records will be changed!

Let’s look at the table named “Student”:

The following examples update the record with id=2 in the “student” table:
